I really hate today. 1st day of AV. Stomach discomfort. Meaningless day.... Just spent whole day eat, sleep n watching tv. Not my idea of spending my saturday. Juz had quarrel with him. He said I kept whining at him non-stop from the moment I woke him up.

It was ALREADY freaking 8pm. and i'm HUNGRY and ANGRY that I still have not eaten my dinner yet.

Now it's my turn to kena dengue

My worst fear came true. I was down with dengue after countless times of mosquitoes bites. I'm very prone to mosquitoes bites and the niozzies always target me rather than my friends or my colleagues.

My hospitalization stay was not unpleasant though rather depressing. It makes my life colourless. Almost everyday I had clear soup (absolutely NOTHING in the soup), clear coloured jelly and apple juice which is clear as well. Doctor's orders for every meal. It's bad enough dat I dun have much appetite to begin with. And I was on the drip throughout the stay, even until the last day I was allowed to be discharged.

As standard procedure, the nurses/doc came to draw my blood up to twice a day.. sometimes wake me up in the middle of the night. Check my heart rate, pulse rate, blood pressure and temperature at every 3 hours interval. How to sleep like dat??? Once I was waken up by the medical staff and was taken to X-ray Lab at midnight!

I was told later I had liver inflammation due to dengue hence the x-ray was needed to check on the condition.

An Auntie in the same ward also kena dengue. Seeing her condition, I considered myself very lucky. She wasn't doing too well. Her blood count kept dropping for two consecutive nights. Had fever as well. Doc instructed nurses to put her on blood bag drip. 0+ type was labelled very clearly. The nurses had to sit by her bed to ensure all 3 blood bags were drained throughly and the flow had to be consistant. However if you see her in the day, she looks alright on outside. Poor woman suffered most at night. And her wounds somehow did not heal well and refused to clot. The nurses tried to stop the bleeding by compressing hard and changed wrapping few times. The last time I left the ward, her hand was still bandaged. Wonder she has discharged by now?

I have gone for blood test at polyclinic to follow up and the doctor said the results were good sign. I have lost 3kg due to sever dehydration and insufficient food intake (i kept vomitting water and food before I was hospitalized) On positive side, it helped to resolve my high-water retention problem. Less round n less bloated on tummy area now. Next wk, I'm going for X-ray to check on my liver condition. Hopefully I'm in the clear in due time.

Full House

As the name indicates, it means house is full of love. Currently it's hottest korean drama whom Rain, the korean singer acted in. I'm still watching it. 2 more DVD discs to go! Love the story so far! I got hooked in it after catching it on SCV at my friend's house. And it happens that my sis jus bought the DVD. Lucky me! heh.. I will brief whole story after I've done with it.

woman's best friend - Jewellery

I discovered new interest in this particular brand of jewellery. It's Italian brand. Interesting design. Very simple n yet attract attention to details. Best wear them with plain tops or tops with wide or low opening. Seen it at small corner of 'Big', Harbourfront Centre. U can view the design here. I simply fall love with the solid designs. =p I particularly like sphere collection which is meant to design for men's wear. Crazy har?

My sis kena dengue fever!

Today my sis is released from hospital n now resting at home. I received news on Thurday night that she was hospitalised. I was stunned. I knew she wasn't feeling well past few days, kept having fever on n off. And on those days she kept vomit out all the food she eat. But I didn't expect her condition to be so serious.

According to my mom, she got worried abt my sis and felt something is wrong. coz her skin color looked odd n she felt legs a bit numb. So she brought her to see our family doc again. (My sis already visited her few times then coz she got fever on those occasions n needed MC). This time, the lady doc run blood test n concerned abt extremely low white blood cells count. ard 55. normal is roughly 130-160. She immediately wrote letter request to NUH for immediate hospitalisation. My sis was confirmed after under one day of observation at the ward. Kept extracting her blood every few hours throughout the night till daytime... I'm amazed that she still don't encounter needle phobia. I would if I were in her shoes. I dislike needles at first place.

At least now she's okay after hospital doc checked her blood count again n gave approval to go home. She gotta rest at home before going back to sch on Jun 30th.

I hope she won't be needed to go back to NUH during resting period. *crossing my fingers*

Time for me to start a blog again

I have not blogged since late 2003. That's way too long man... Gotta start somewhere.

Yesterday caught Star Wars movie which my bf has booked last weekend. So it was something that keeps us looking forward. Everything went going great for him from the start of e day, from getting more chops than usual for his practical driving to getting free fish from his friend.

I also planned my work schedule such a way dat I minimise workload especially for wednesday to knock off no later than 7pm.

Everything seems went smoothly till I last min felt urgency to go toilet. In the end, we missed the intro part (the scrolling written introduction) totally. My bf was upset coz he is hardcore Star Wars fan n never miss a single minute of any Star Wars movie in his life previously.

Actually I enjoyed the movie throughly even though I missed the front part, I didn't feel I was missing out much. It was my bf who kept rubbing in n made me feel rotten abt watching it at first place.

We argued in the cab way back home. I already apologised n suggested watching it again to make up for it. Then he said it's wasted of money. [I was pissed. What hell does he want me to do then??] I refused to talk at the rest of journey.

Later he sms-ed me when I reached home, he suggested I could buy Star Wars VCD for him. I relent and we made up. *Sigh..* Can't imagine this star wars thingy can be so much trouble.
